   Ha! My uncle had to get some new hearing aid so his wife doesn’t shout at him anymore.

   This reminds of a story that has a completely opposite extrapolation:

   There was this lovely married couple who had a baby every year for tens years. Finally, on the eleventh year she went to her OB/GYN for a check-up and, for the first time since he’d known her, she was NOT pregnant.

   “What?” he cried, “No baby this year?”

   “No,” she replied. “I got a hearing aid a few months ago.

   “Um, OK. But how would a hearing aid keep you from getting pregnant?”

   “Well, every night when we went to bed my husband would ask, “Well, do you want to go to sleep, or what? And I always said, ‘What?’”
